The 2050 Land Use Plan Update includes a public involvement process whereby the area residents and business owners will have an opportunity to share perspectives and stay involved.
Public Input Opportunities
The first Public Workshop was held on Tuesday, May 11th (4:30-6:00 pm).
The workshop was a hybrid event, with options to attend in-person at Grand Forks City Hall or join virtually via phone or internet.
Video of the open house presentation can be viewed here or below.
During the first public engagement period, an interactive map was available to the community. Residents were asked to place pins at locations that had opportunities for development or presented limitations to growth. They could also leave comments, and like/dislike comments left by others. This tool provided a great foundation for identifying potential areas for growth and opportunities to work through development limitations.
A summary of the responses can be found by clicking here.
Potato Bowl Pop Up Event
The project team conducted a pop-up event for Potato Bowl at the Park from 4 to 8 p.m. September 16 at University Park. The event catered towards children of all ages. Kids and parents were asked to draw, build, or tag their favorite community places on a map of Grand Forks. Children took photos of their creations with a Polaroid camera.
